De-Shed Treatment
What is Shedding and what is a De-shed treatment?
Shedding is the natural way hair leaves your dog. You find the hair all over your furniture, carpets, your clothes and even your hands when stroking some dogs!
While heavy shedding is breed specific there is no such thing as a non-shedding dog, unless it is completely hairless!
Some breeds shed seasonally while others shed all year round. Labradors, Retrievers, and German Shepherds are known to be prolific shedders, whereas Poodles and Bichon Frise aren't.
Your dogs health is a major factor in determining how much of their hair falls out so if your pooch is shedding an unusual amount for their breed it is worth getting them checked by the vet. For dogs with normal shedding levels a specialised de-shed treatment is recommended.
A De-shed treatment at Doggie-Styles is where we remove all loose hair (well as much as possible!) from your dog using various brushing techniques and tools.
We bath your dog using a specially formulated shampoo to help improve the condition of the coat and prevent over-shedding. After the dog is dry we fully brush out the dog again and finish their pamper with a nice spritz of pawfume or cologne to leave them smelling gorgeous.
A de-shed treatment can be had on it's own or in combination with a full groom.
Prices vary depending of the breed and size of the dog. See our Prices page for a guide but please get in touch to discuss further.
